By Richard LeDue
Life can feel like shooting a vampire
point-blank, only to realize
a table leg would be more useful,
and it can also be like laughing
at a friend who's certain
sunlight kills zombies,
but we all can't be Van Helsing
nor even a hysterical Barbara-
the best most of us can hope for
is to be a credited extra,
who got a loan from their parents
or maxed a credit card
just to make it
to the filming in a far away city.
Richard LeDue (he/him) lives in Norway House, Manitoba, Canada. He has been published both online and in print. He is the author of seven books of poetry. His latest book, Everyday Failure, was released by Alien Buddha Press in October 2022.
