By Lisa Mary Armstrong
You conceive that I am weak -
merely a watered-down version
or a poorly painted replica
of some fine art piece
But I approach life
with a broad brush –
using fine strokes
building daring concepts
that defy logic -
There is nothing abstract about my art
yet I’m more subtle
than you would care to imagine
and strong
always painting
my picture with purpose
Lisa Mary Armstrong is a Scottish poet and lives in South Lanarkshire with her children. She tutors law and researches women and children's experiences of the criminal justice system. In her spare time she enjoys reading and writing poetry and fiction and playing the piano.
