By Hatteras Mange
Toothsome walnut crumb
studs a pulpy batter, fork
tender as her eyes.
Crust of gentle spice
and sugars browned sticky. Her
kiss, heaven’s own bite.
Moistened flakes of cake
glazed to her hand. Fruity scent,
oven’s wedding band.
